Martin Olin Andersen - MSc E MBA - joined Scandinavian Life Science Venture (SLSV) as a Senior Investment Manager & Partner in 2000. Before joining SLSV Mr. Andersen held various managerial positions at Novo Nordisk within finance, legal and IT. Mr. Andersen has broad international experience and a strong network with strong financial and legal competences. Mr. Andersen serves on the board of Symphogen A/S, Precisense A/S, Chempilots A/S, Sophion Bioscience A/S and has lead several of SLSV investment in the life science sector.
Ann Bilyew - Ann Bilyew joined Advent in 1999 and has 10 years of venture capital and healthcare operations experience. Before joining Advent, she was a managing director at Health Business Partners Prior to Health Business Partners, Ann spent five years with APM Inc., a large healthcare-oriented strategic consulting firm. Ann has led or managed Advent's investments in companies including Health Hero Network Inc., Impliant Ltd., MDeverywhere Inc., Med e-Manager Corp., MedVantx and Millimed Holdings, Inc.
Seppo Mäkinen - Senior Partner, Board member President of Bio Fund Management A/S M.Sc. Physical Chemistry, University of Jyväskylä, 1979. Mr Mäkinen is a founding partner of Bio Fund Management Oy Ltd, and served as a board member since the founding of the company. Mr Mäkinen has been President of Bio Fund Management A/S since its founding on December 2001 in Copenhagen. Mr Mäkinen also served 10 years as director of the venture capital group at Sitra, and before that in sales and marketing in Millipore Oy, Waters Chromatography Division. He has a background in physical and analytical laboratory and research. Mr Mäkinen works or has worked as chairman of the board in, for instance, the following companies: Bio-Orbit Oy, Kone Instruments Oy, Rados Technology Oy, MAP Medical Technologies Oy, and Fluilogic Systems Oy. He has or has had board membership or related positions in several companies, including Merlin Diagnostika GmbH (Germany), Pharming Health Care B.V. (Netherlands), Primex Ingredients ASA (Norway), Exiqon A/S (Denmark), Egalet A/S (Denmark), KSH-Productor Oy, Rumen Oy, Wallac Oy, Helsinki University Licensing Oy, and Viable Bioproducts Oy.
Prof. Martin Rothman - Director of Cardiac Research and Development at Barts and The London NHS Trust. He is internationally renowned, specializing in coronary angioplasty and was co-founder and president of the UK society of specialists undertaking angioplasty.
Ray Simkins - President, Getz Bros & Co.,Inc a diversified distributor in the Asia/ Pacific region. Mr Simkins joined Getz in 1966 and has held many positions throughout his career with them in the USA, Europe and Asia. His last assignment, prior to being made Global President, was to run the Healthcare businesses of Getz throughout the Asia region. Ray spent 15 years based in Japan building up the Heathcare business of Getz that is now heavily involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution as well as sales and service of medical devices and equipment. During his tenure with Getz he has interfaced with many major corporations - Merck, Roche, Bristol Myers Squibb, Medtronic, St.Jude, Guidant, Boston Scientific, Haemonetics and Datascope, . Ray also led the group's venture capital program and invested in many start-up companies in the USA, Europe and Japan as well as serving on their respective boards. |
